How Your Contribution Helps Yana and Her Family
Yana is a talented young freestyle skier from Ukraine whose life was drastically changed when war forced her and her family to flee their home. Like many refugees, they left behind everything they knew – their home, their community, and for Yana, her dreams of competing in freestyle skiing.
Despite the overwhelming challenges she faces, Yana remains determined to pursue her passion for skiing. Her heart is still set on competing and one day achieving her dreams on the slopes. However, like many displaced families, Yana’s family is facing significant financial challenges as they work to rebuild their lives in a new country.
Yana is part of the Winnipeg Freeriders Club
How Your Contribution Helps Yana and Her Family:
Your generous contributions will directly support Yana and her family in the following ways:
- Ski Equipment and Gear: Freestyle skiing requires sport specific equipment, and Yana is in need of freestyle skis, boots, poles, and protective gear. Your contribution will help ensure she has the right tools to continue her training and chase her dream of competing.
- Coaching and Training: Your contribution will help fund coaching and specialized training camps, giving Yana the opportunity to rebuild her skills and continue to develop as an athlete.
Freestyle Manitoba’s Role:
All contributions made to support Yana will be managed by The Manitoba Freestyle Ski Association Inc. (We are a Provincial Sports Organization with Freestyle Canada & under Sport Manitoba’s umbrella), an organization committed to fostering freestyle skiing throughout our province. Should Yana decide not to continue skiing, the funds will be redirected to our high-performance training initiatives within the province. This ensures that your contribution will continue to support the development of future athletes, regardless of the outcome.
